Glenn is best known as the "Opportunity Expert" because of his expertise in identifying and solving for business opportunity gaps that others don't see. A UCLA graduate, Glenn fast-tracked at the Gallo Wine Company and Sunkist Juice Beverages where he became the youngest executive in the company's 100-year history. Leading the successful turn-around of Sunkist's juice beverage division opened the door for his next endeavor-at only 30 years old-as a senior executive at American Seafoods Company. The result was an increase in market share, new brands introductions, and a full-scale transformation of the company. Glenn then went on to form his own successful food businesses before transitioning into his current role as a consultant, executive coach, and keynote speaker to Fortune 500 companies.

Glenn is a member of the Kellogg Innovation Network and serves on the advisory board of the Brittingham Social Enterprise Lab at the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. Additionally, he is a mentor for Junior Achievement and a member of the exclusive Renaissance Weekend think-tank. Glenn is frequently featured as a business leadership expert on CNN, Fox News, Bloomberg, Univision, ABC, NBC, and CBS. He lives in California with his family.

Leading Diversity and Inclusion as a Growth Strategy
Corporate diversity and inclusion initiatives are usually well meaning and often look and sound great on paper. Yet vast numbers of them prove ineffective or fail within a year or two. This is not surprising when you consider that most of them are developed to comply with corporate governance and self-regulation.

In most workplaces, that means diversity and inclusion is poorly funded and disconnected from broader, more substantial, and well-funded growth strategies. They are viewed as cost centers, rather than as profit centers to drive influence in the workplace and growth in the marketplace. They assume existing and potential employees targeted by these programs must change to fit into the existing workplace culture.

Simply put, companies need a new approach and strategy for growth, because without that strategy, change is merely substitution not evolution. Old ways of doing business don't apply any more. Culturally diverse segments of the U.S. population (e.g., Hispanics, African-Americans, Asian-Pacific Islanders) are projected to represent 54% of the U.S. population by 2050 and have already reached critical mass. The influence of this Cultural Demographic Shift™ (CDS) has resulted in huge strategic implications for all industries and organizations. Demand already exists. It's time to drive growth through the CDS around the distinct needs of diverse and "shift" populations faster and more efficiently.

Leadership must support shift populations – activating and leveraging their full potential – while avoiding any tension that may disrupt engagement, overall performance in the workplace, and thus growth in marketplace. That means these growth strategies must be less about the business defining the individual and more about the individual defining the business. They must put the needs and differences of shift populations at the center of those strategies to maximize organizational performance and marketplace growth to seize opportunities previously unseen.
