Steve Kissell

Biography

Steve Kissell is a conference organizer and the director of Mirthworks, Inc., an organization which promotes the use of humor to develop and to maintain a healthy lifestyle. As a humorist, educator and motivational speaker, he has presented to such diverse groups as the FBI, the Dupont Corporation, the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) and the North Carolina Department of Education. Steve is in constant demand to show audiences how to infuse humor into the workplace to reduce stress, improve job performance and increase career satisfaction. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Education degree in 1987 (magna cum laude) and the Elaine P. Whitty Scholarship for Educational Excellence, he was an educator in the Norfolk (Virginia) Public School System and earned the School Bell Award for Teaching and Excellence. Additionally, he has served in the U. S. Naval Reserves from 1980 to the present. Steve is the author of several books, including, Surviving Life with Laughter and Never Take Comedy from a Stranger. He is a member of the National Speakers Association, and serves as President of the Virginia Speakers Association.
