CLIENT to provide the following:
Room Preference:
Large rooms with a small number of attendees tend to create a flat atmosphere and low energy. People spread out for comfort and therefore have little involvement and interaction with each other or the speaker. If you're unsure about the number of attendees at the session, it is better to select a smaller room and fill it to capacity. The closer the attendees sit to one another, the closer they are to the stage, the more synergy and interaction you'll create.
Stage/Riser/Seating Placement:
A stage/riser works best placed in the middle of the room with the screen(s) off to the side. Ideally it is best to place the first row of chairs approximately 3-6 feet from the stage. Mr. Barrera likes to interact with the participants and when the attendees are seated too far from the stage, their involvement diminishes.
Screen(s):
Mr. Barrera develops a completely customized power point presentation for each program. Because each program is unique, it's critical for Mr. Barrera to be able to refer to the screen easily during his program. Placing the screen to the side of the stage or in either corner of the room works best. If the screen must be in the center of the stage, Mr. Barrera will need enough room on the stage to be able to read the screen comfortable. See diagram.
When possible, rear projection is preferred because Mr. Barrera's actions won't interfere with the image. If you're using front projection, the screen should be placed in the corner of the room or the stage so Mr. Barrera can stand center-stage and not interfere with the image.
Equipment:
SPEAKER will bring his laptop, as well as a back-up disk, on Windows NT. CLIENT to provide a LCD Projector (XGA preferred, SVGA is okay) that is compatible with Windows '95 for his power point presentation. SPEAKER will bring his own wireless mouse.
SPEAKER will place his laptop on the lectern or on a small cocktail table or A/V cart, which ever is easier for CLIENT.
CLIENT to provide a wireless lavaliere microphone if you have a group size of 50 people or more.
Lighting:
A well-lit room encourages your attendees to interact with each other and with Mr. Barrera. A brightly-lit room signals a high-energy environment for learning. When lights are lowered, there is an expectation of quiet, one-sided, theatre-style entertainment. Mr. Barrera prefers to have the house lights UP FULL during his presentation. Sometimes this can interfere with the visuals on the screen. This can be easily managed by unscrewing the light bulbs directly over the screen if they are not on a separate switch.
Lectern Preference:
Mr. Barrera does not use a lectern. However he is aware that the introducer or others will most likely want to utilize one. Please place the lectern in the back corner or off to one side, so Mr. Barrera can walk the entire front of the stage and get as close as possible to the audience.
