In 1963, Jim Bouton won 21 games for the Yankees and made the All-Star team. He won 18 games in 1964, and beat the Cardinals twice in the World Series.
Jim is the author of Ball Four, the all-time sports bestseller which he wrote in 1970. Ball Four was selected by the New York Public Library as one of "The Books of the Century." In 1971, Jim wrote a sequel to Ball Four entitled: I'm Glad You Didn't Take It Personally. At age 39, in 1978, he quit his job as a TV sportscaster and made a comeback to baseball with the Atlanta Braves.
In 1980, he invented Big League Chew shredded bubble gum so players could look right without getting sick.
In 1994, Jim wrote his first novel entitled: STRIKE ZONE, the story of a baseball game being fixed by the home plate umpire. Jim was featured in The Sports 100 book, "The One Hundred Most Important People In American Sports History" in 1996.
Today, he is President of his own product development company. Jim's hobbies are semi-pro baseball/building stone walls.
