Emily Turner Profile
Emily Turner is Senior Vice President at Spaeth Communications. Having served both public and private industries, Emily has a wealth of experience in the areas of public relations, marketing, and communications consulting. Her true passion lies in teaching others the importance of strategic communication which she does regularly through Spaeth`s signature training courses.
In this role, she counsels clients on how to avoid or manage crises and trains spokespeople with Spaeth`s copyrighted techniques. Emily works on integrated communications plans including the utilization of new media, and enjoys coaching clients who are eager to improve their presentation techniques and experiment with speech enhancements. She has unusually deep experience in the construction and health care industries with a specific focus on implementing crisis and grassroots communication strategies.
Over the years, Emily has prepared and introduced a crisis media policy and trained senior and mid-level managers to be frontline crisis and community spokespersons for one of the world`s largest construction companies. Additionally, she is a champion for educating leaders using Spaeth`s methodology in order to enhance and maintain their organizations` reputations.
Emily has worked with top health care organizations to incorporate the firm`s "Employees as Ambassadors" program. She created a training manual for the "Train-the-Trainer" component of the Ambassador program, as well as worked with the designated Senior Ambassadors who are tasked with training the rest of the hospital staff using Spaeth`s techniques.
Emily started at Spaeth Communications with a background in state government and public information as Florida`s statewide coordinator for Operation Lifesaver, a national program to increase public awareness for safety on railway tracks. As an associate at Spaeth, Emily gained expertise in developing highly-specialized written materials such as biographies, opinion pieces and speeches. Emily undertook a communication audit for a publishing company using the firm`s Influence Model to produce virtually real-time feedback for the top executives.
Emily was lured to a corporate career in New York City where she worked for Deloitte. She was chosen to help launch a completely new, live Webcast series titled Dbriefs. Emily served as the content coordinator and was in charge of a broad range of initiatives, from the quarterly production schedule to producing the series program guide. She tapped into her presentations skills training background and assisted each speaker in preparing for their live Webcasts. The combination of the interactive format and live programming was a success, and now Dbriefs is a centerpiece of the firm`s marketing efforts.
After getting Dbriefs off the ground, Emily returned to her home state of Florida and Spaeth Communications. Emily has a degree in media studies from Florida State University`s College of Communication. She and her husband David, an actor and professor, live in Columbus, Georgia with their two small children and one large dog.
