John received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cincinnati. After three years of professional baseball, he earned a Masters of Divinity degree from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston.
John has a diverse background. From 1973 to 1975, he directed a youth counseling center. In 1975, he became a minister of a small church in Colorado, where the congregation grew from 80 to 2,000 in five years. Then in 1980 as Director of Special Projects for World Relief, John accepted the challenge to motivate people across the country to help feed hungry children and their families. As a professional speaker, he encourages people to step into the arena and live their dreams. In keeping with his philosophy, he became a professional golfer in 2002.
He incorporates real life examples into his presentations by sharing his experiences as an athlete, minister, publisher, company founder, pre-game inspirational speaker for the Chicago Bears (1983-95), loving husband and father, and an extremely perceptive human being.
His genuine style helps audiences re-energize lives, careers and relationships… and see life from a new perspective.

Today's speaker is the founder and President of The Cassis Group, a consulting firm specializing in team building and motivation. John Cassis' inspirational presentations have been embraced by live audiences, as well as people who have heard his message through tapes, television appearances and his motivational newsletter.
John's effectiveness as a motivator stems from distinguished academic beginnings. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati by cramming a four-year program in to 5 & 1/2 years! Our speaker claims he graduated in the half of the class that made the top half possible!
In 1980, World Relief selected John as its Director of Special Projects where he challenged and motivated thousands across the country to help feed hungry children and their families.
Since 1983, John's own company has helped organizations across America recognize ways they can "Catch a Second Wind" during these challenging days of change. The U.S. Department of Justice, Abbott Labs, Motorola, Mayo Clinic and the Million Dollar Round Table are among those who rely on his motivational expertise.
John also served as a pre-game inspirational speaker for the Chicago Bears from 1983 to 1995, and continues to speak to professional sports teams. Former NFL Chicago Bears’ coach, Mike Ditka, simply calls John Cassis:
