Mark Scharenbroich Biography
John Stumpf, president and CEO of Wells Fargo, calls Mark an original... the best motivational speaker I`ve ever heard. Chicken Soup for the Soul creator Mark Victor Hansen says Mark is a wow of wows... magical, mesmerizing, motivating... brilliant. And Sue Steen - CEO, SERVPRO states: Nice Bike is a life changing philosophy that is simple to apply in everyday situations. Make this book mandatory reading for your organization only if you want to build a culture of excellence at every level.
They`re not the only ones. Clients constantly remark on his unconventional approach, knockout humor, and personal stories with universal appeal. All focus on the relationship side of creating results, connecting people to people, management to front line, team member to team member, company to customer.
While earning a degree in mass communications at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, Mark wrote, directed and performed in a comedy troupe called Mom`s Apple Pie. The group performed together throughout the Midwest in the `70s, and when it disbanded, Mark went solo and combined his comedy training with motivational speaking.
Soon after, Mark was employed by Jostens -- the leading manufacturer of class rings, yearbooks and graduation products -- to speak to their customers throughout North America. In 1981 Mark was featured in a film called The Greatest Days of Your Life... (So Far) , which was seen by millions of viewers worldwide. It earned him the Golden Apple and Silver Screen film awards.
Mark left Jostens to create a communications company, and became noted in education as a leading expert in the area of leadership and student engagement. He then expanded his message of employee engagement into the association and corporate market.
Mark`s new book, Nice Bike -- Making Meaningful Connections on the Road of Life shares powerful stories based on the three actions steps of acknowledge, honor and connect.
Mark and his wife, Susan, founded Scharenbroich & Associates, Inc. Today, they`ve been married for more than 30 years and continue to partner in the company, which serves business and education clients internationally. In 2010, they established NiceBikeHonorsVeterans.org to honor the memory of Mark`s father and to support veterans causes with a portion of the sales from his book, Nice Bike.

Mark Victor Hansen - Co-creator, #1 New York Times best-selling Chicken Soup for the Soul
Your message was delivered with a great deal of enthusiasm, clarity and relevance to our top producers. You made us laugh, you made us choke up, you made us proud and you made us think. There could not have been a better way to start our conference, to generate discussion among the attendees, or to set the set tone for the following three days."
Jim Brown - Vice-president, AIG
"What I personally witnessed were our franchisees and corporate staff captivated by your message. And despite all the changes that were announced just before you spoke, you never missed a beat. How refreshing in this day and age of canned presentations to have someone customize an effective message on the spot. Nice bike!"
Lattie Michael - Founder, Chairman and CEO, Back Yard Burgers
"Thank you for the absolutely outstanding kickoff presentation. When a speaker receives a standing ovation from our crowd, he has really achieved something. I can`t tell you how many members came up to me during our event to tell me what a fabulous speaker we chose this year -- nor how many said, `Nice bike.` "
Linda Raynes, CAE - President & CEO, Electrical Apparatus Service Association
"Your presentation was right on target to inspire the spirit of family necessary to unite five separate business units under one corporate umbrella with a common culture, purpose and understanding. Everyone was overwhelmed with your message and your ability to relate through your storytelling."
Cleve Fowler - Senior Vice-president, Linc Facility Services
