Joseph Piscatella Biography

Not Your Ordinary Joe! One of the country`s most respected experts on how to live a healthy lifestyle is MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER JOE PISCATELLA. Author of 12 books, Joe offers up-to-date medical information and studies on how to prevent, halt and even reverse heart disease. He knows the science of diet, exercise, and balanced living very well because over 34 years ago, Joe faced his own devastating prognosis.

Picture this: You are 32 years old with a young family and a successful career. One day while playing tennis, you feel some pressure in your chest. Two days later you are having cardiac bypass surgery for aggressive coronary disease.

That`s what happened to Joe. The prognosis was not good. One doctor even predicted that he would not live to age 40. But Joe didn`t accept that opinion. His philosophy: You can`t change the cards you were dealt, but you can change the way you play them.

He concentrated on eating healthier, managing stress, exercising effectively and keeping a positive attitude. And it`s worked. Joe has celebrated the 33rd anniversary of that surgery, making him one of the longest-lived survivors of cardiac bypass. He is living proof that with motivation and the right information, living a balanced lifestyle for optimal health and performance is possible.

The effectiveness and practicality of Joe`s healthy-living advice is recognized nationally. He is a frequent guest on The Today Show, CNN, Good Morning America and Fox News.

He has hosted three PBS television specials on lifestyle and health, and is in pre-production for a program on the health of children. He has served as the only non-medical member of the National Institutes of Health Expert Panel on Cardiac Rehabilitation, is a national spokesperson on corporate wellness for the American Heart Association, and is a guest expert on cardiac health for WebMD. Charged with improving elementary school lunches in Washington State, Joe currently serves on the Legislative Task Force on Youth Health.

The art of storytelling, contagious humor and decades of experience deliver a powerful, practical message that moves audiences to live healthier lives. Over 2 million people have attended Joe`s powerful keynote speeches and breakout sessions steeped in humor, insight and practical how to tools. With his energy, sense of humor and decades of experience, Joe captivates and motivates audiences, inspiring them to take steps toward healthier living.
