His long-term client list includes Daimler-Chrysler, Toro, American Airlines, Great Clips for Hair, Subway, American Family and First Bank. Hundreds of companies - from construction to healthcare, high technology firms to the auto industry - have relied on Mike for insight into creating today`s business innovation and success.
His program topics include Change, Motivation, Maximizing Performance, Customer Service, Teamwork, Leadership and Balancing Work & Home.
With a career in manufacturing and retail and with experience in radio and television broadcasting, Mike has a breadth of business expertise on which to draw when he shares his ideas and programs with large audiences, individuals, management teams and boards of directors across the country.
As a committed civic volunteer, Mike enjoys assisting various organizations, bringing his professional and personal strengths to help those in need. He often visits his alma mater, volunteering his time and sharing his business expertise with students whom he considers the business leaders of tomorrow. Through sponsorship of United Way functions, providing scholarships and support at his alma mater, and working with those dealing with terminal illnesses, Mike appreciates the many opportunities he has to give back to his community.
Mike and his wife Deb live in Wisconsin and Florida and enjoy sharing time with their five children.
Mike uses real life photos for fun and humor yet ties them into serious points about life and business. He works to share his message of maximizing performance and enjoying the ride!
They Have the Money:
A Simple Equation for Keeping Your Customers
They have the Money, is an essential tool for any service-oriented business. With advice, stories and exercises to use in your business, Mike McKinley`s book will help you succeed in getting customers to:
Remain with your business, preferring you to your competition, every time.
Return to your business, to give you ore opportunities to serve them.
Refer their friends, creating growth through positive word-of-mouth.
With clear examples and easily understood explanations, Mike McKinley will lead you through the simple formulas that can help you better serve your customers - and enjoy greater customer loyalty and profits.
Change Was Changed Before It Was Changed
You simply must change to keep up with your competition. But change doesn`t have to be scary. Learn how to react to change constructively, thereby encouraging flexibility in the people around you.
The business bottom line is affected by how you minimize mistakes and achieve consistent productivity. Learn how responsibility and accountability are essential to your survival and growth.
Learn to make the most of each day. People with a positive outlook are happier and more effective both at work and at home. Mike sparks permanent changes by motivating you to focus on what is important in your life.
Right now your competition is busy trying to win over your customers. Don`t let that happen! Learn how to take your clients beyond customer service to a place called "customer specialness," where your clients are loyal and your sales increase.
In an era of cutbacks, improving productivity with fewer employees becomes essential. However, accomplishing more with fewer people takes teamwork. Learn how to meet or exceed your goals -- without compromising quality or service standards -- by building self-motivated teams.
Learn when to manage and when to lead. Businesses need to be managed, but people need to be led. Effective managers who are also leaders become resource people for, not bosses of, others. And isn`t that what supervision is all about?
Balancing Work and Home
It`s hard to succeed at work and at home when both are filled with goals, expectations, and demands. Finding the right balance can increase your productivity and improve your attitude. Put more balance in your life!

I have been responsible for hundreds of meetings, conferences, seminars and conventions over the past 20 years and have likely hired more than a hundred speakers. I can`t think of another speaker that is like Michael McKinley. I certainly have worked with speakers who deliver a quality presentation that are reasonable to work with. However, I often expect more than that and Michael McKinley always delivers more than what I expect.
I believe it`s obvious that I would highly recommend Mike for any critical role in your convention or meeting, be it master of ceremonies, opening speaker, keynote speaker, or closing session presenter. He has a unique blend of competence, humor, platform skills, flexibility, substance, and sincerity.
Rhoda Olsen, President/COO - Great Clips, Inc.
He will go down as one of our best keynote speakers. Mike`s presentation was not only dynamic, it was packed with valuable, practical information. Our attendees (most of whom are CAPCA members) were also impressed and pleased at Mike`s presence at our reception the evening before his presentation. Mike had `done his homework` and was able and willing to chat with the attendees prior to and following his presentation.
Kimberly Crum, Executive Director - California Agricultural Production Consultants Association
I have heard nothing but wonderful comments about your presentation. No, we do not have ice cream,` one of our most favorite lines. Isn`t it amazing how easy it is to forget how important our customers are for our business -- but most importantly we should try to learn, laugh, and have fun each day! Not only is your message a powerful one, but also a well-needed reminder.
Kimberly D. Williams, Human Resource Consultant, Human Resource Department - Solvay Pharmaceuticals
