Biography

As former chairman of the FCC, Reed Hundt had a front row seat during a time marked by unprecedented technological change. He helped build the intersection where communications, public policy and the global economy meet. Committed to bridging the Digital Divide, he brought the Internet to low-income families and people with disabilities as well as to classrooms, libraries and remote areas. Author of "You Say You Want a Revolution: A Story of Information Age Politics", he helps audiences make sense of the technological forces that have revolutionized the world around them. Still on the cutting edge of information technology, Hundt tells audiences what lies ahead and how it will affect them and their business. Hundt served as chairman of the FCC from 1993 to 1997. During his tenure, he helped negotiate the World Trade Organization Telecommunications agreement and implemented the historic Telecommunications Act of 1996. he takes special pride in having created the most extensive national commitment to education in America's history -- a program that dedicates more than $2 billion annually to connecting all classrooms in the country to the Internet.
