Dr. Joseph MacInnis, a medical doctor and one of the world's foremost explorers, has done this and much more. He is the first person to dive and film under the North Pole. He has led or participated in more than fifty major undersea expeditions and logged more time inside the Arctic Ocean than any other scientist. As a physician, he has spent twenty years studying human performance in high-risk environments. Dr. MacInnis joined James Cameron as he hosted a 90-minute Live-from-Inside-the-Titanic television special for the Discovery Channel, a first of its kind. The expedition involved the world's biggest research ship, 130 people, two $20-million subs and a trio of mini-robots. At the same time, Dr. MacInnis released his companion book Exploring Titanic at the Speed of Light.
