John Feinstein is the author of 16 sports books, including the bestsellers Caddy for Life (A Bruce Edwards Story), Open, A Good Walk Spoiled, The Majors, A Civil War, The Last Amateurs, and A Season on the Brink, which becamse the best-selling sports book of all time. He is a contributor to the Washington Post and Golf Digest, and is a commentator for National Public Radio and Sporting News Radio. John graduated from Duke University in 1977. He worked at the Washington Post for 11 years as both a political and sports reporter. He has also worked at Sports Illustrated and at the National Sports Daily. He lives in Potomac, Maryland, and Shelter Island, New York, with his wife, son, and daughter.
