Drum Cafe builds teams one beat at a time!
Every day, across the globe, companies are looking for new ways to motivate and inspire their people. They turn to various team-building experts seeking out programs from the extreme to the mundane. However, most of these programs or exercises generally seem to fall short or lack any long-term effect. For many years, companies large or small have been turning and returning to the Drum Cafe as their primary source of motivational inspiration. Their in-depth knowledge of team building, high-energy events, and hands-on approach to bringing the spirit of togetherness to life, turns the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Drum Cafe is comprised of facilitators that are highly educated and talented, as well as musicians that are as talented as they are passionate about what they do -- they all work to create energy that`s absolutely infectious!
When individuals or teams leave the event they are fueled and energized, not just for that moment but also for the weeks and months ahead. Group leaders and managers often call to inform us that the after-effect still lingers among their staff, and has created greater ROI and more productivity.
Performance
A wide array of drum and dance talent to energize and electrify audiences. Nothing raises a person`s heart rate more than a wall of drums!
Perfect for short (5-15 minute) general session walk-in/out music, interludes between speakers and videos, product launches, or anywhere a spike is needed!
Longer non-interactive performances (30 or 45 min) through cultural story-telling, authentic costume, drumming, and dancing.
From Gumboot dancers to Afro-Cuban and West African ensembles, Drum Cafe has a wide variety of energetic, energizing performers to uplift you.
Interactive Entertainment
High-energy rhythm experience that may utilize drums, boomwhackers, drumsticks, shakers, hands, feet, or any other creative expression!
Perfect for a hands-on energizer, icebreaker, or agenda slot that doesn`t require heavy content or learning.
Program duration very scalable from 10 to 60 minutes, but mostly used as a 30-60 minutes `power punch`.
Boomwhackers
"Boomwhackers" are brightly colored plastic tubes that are tuned by length to musical notes. A great way to expand your musicality, boomwhackers are a wonderful follow-on from drumming as they introduce melody. When hit on the hand, each color boom-whacker produces a different tone, with five different tones in total. Participants are split up into color groups, and each group is given a different rhythm to play. These intertwining rhythms come together to produce a melodious musical composition and the group is taught to make music as one. Before you know it, your group will be making music together, resulting in a strong feeling of unity.
Drumsticks
An experience that approximates the core Drum Cafe experience as much of the technology and structure used with drums are used here. It is still using rhythm as a way to connect people in a universal manner and the Drum Cafe performers are still carrying the drumming `load` from the stage, but there`s an overall drop in power and gut-level response that the drums elicits. Drumsticks are easy to hand out, either before or on your way into the ballroom and are a great branded gift for participants to take home.

Debrief
After The Drum Cafe experience, it is often necessary and always advantageous to allow the delegates the opportunity and space to express themselves in the more conventional manner of group discussion.
This debrief is facilitated by The Drum Cafe`s program facilitator, who specializes in mapping the experience from the very first Drum Call to the last beat of the program back to the work environment. The Drum Cafe experience is an extremely `intelligent` program whose metaphors are rich in context as they relate to the workplace and each particular client`s goals and objectives.
This facilitated debrief is an opportunity for each/any of the delegates to share what they learned from the experience -- not only about themselves but how they can translate it to practical application in the workplace.
Often described as the `cherry on top`, this adjunct module of a Drum Cafe visit wraps up the experience in an encompassing manner and insures that the energy and dynamic created with the drums is captured and kept at the surface for the duration of the client meeting, providing for richer conversations and more productive dialogue among the team members.
