Richard "Mack" Machowicz

Biography

Mack is best known as the compelling host and producer of Discovery Channel`s hit show "FutureWeapons" in addition to producing and hosting a one-hour special for the Discovery Channel called "Weapons That Changed the World," which continues to be seen on both the Discovery and Military Channels.

Mack recently signed an exclusive development deal with SPIKE TV to host and produce some cool guy-centric programming. He is also the host of Deadliest Warrior which aired in July of 2011.

In 2009 he filmed a cameo appearance with Gerard Butler in the film GAMER directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the dynamic duo that created the hit film Crank. Mack was also central in the marketing blitz of the video game Red Faction: Guerilla for THQ. He co-wrote and hosted five webisodes that featured him detailing the game`s weapons, game play and also included a weekend weapon firing familiarization junket. Red Faction: Guerilla went from a relatively unheralded game to an acclaimed game that generated almost $15 million in sales within the first few weeks of its release. He also hosted and developed a one-hour pilot for NBC with J.D. Roth of 3ball and David Broome of 25/7 called The Gift, which aired on Bravo.

Mack has also authored the best-selling book Unleash The Warrior Within. The book was acknowledged by Dr. Phil on his show when he enthusiastically said to Mack and his audience, "This is an inspirational read!" The New York Daily News said about the book, "Machowicz takes you into the trenches of your passive mindset and pulls you out a self-assertive warrior." And Publishers Weekly said, "His potent prose and no-nonsense approach will motivate [readers] to begin to behave differently."

His work has been featured in numerous publications including the Los Angeles Times, Men`s Fitness and Black Belt Magazine as well as being showcased on Dr. Phil, ESPN, Lifetime and CNBC`s "The Big Idea." Mack has consulted with various professionals ranging from NFL and NBA Teams, to senior corporate executives and their staff. He also is also the founder and CEO of NDCQ.com. Much of Mack`s expertise derives from his experience as a ten-year veteran of the U.S. Navy SEALs. While a member of SEAL Team One and Two he participated in numerous tactical operations. During his service in SEAL Team Two, he was attached to the training cadre as the Leading Petty Officer of Land, Mountain and Arctic Warfare.

He has over 25 years of experience in the martial arts studying such systems as muay thai boxing, Jeet Kune Do, kickboxing, aikido, jujitsu, savate, arnis and karate. He was a certified instructor in the Naval Special Warfare Combat Fighting Instructor Course, a Naval Special Warfare Scout/Sniper and has received multiple black belts. Mack also served as a personal protection specialist for many high profile individuals within the political arena, business world and entertainment industry.

Mack is also the founder and creator of the Bukido Training System. Bukido is much more than a martial art; it is the physical manifestation of a performance philosophy which uses unarmed combat as a metaphor for exploring the dynamics of doubt, hesitation, second guessing, stress, pain, fatigue and fear.
